A New Challenge Blog

Just to let you all know that there is going to be a new challenge blog called

"Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges"

I was lucky enough to be picked for the new Design Team along with 7 others. You'll probably already know them from their great work using Magnolia stamps. If you don't know them have a look at my sidebar as I have links to all their blogs.
The new challenges will be posted on a Wednesday.
I hope lots of you will join in and I look forward to seeing your ATCs!

I will post a link when it is all up and running.

Another good mail day.

Today I received this fab card from Katharina , along with some images of the Hanglar stamps. Thank you so much Katharina. x

I also received some lovely Sarah Kay images from Frances. Thank you too Frances. x

I think I'm going to busy over the next couple of months with all these new images to colour and make into projects!

Thursday 28 February 2008

Big thank you!!

Look what I received in the mail today!! A massive thank you to Monika who sent me these goodies.

Monika made this lovely little folder with the fab Stampabella image on the front. The little bag she also made with some mini bars of chocolate and some little embellies.

And......

inside the folder it was jam packed with Hanglar images. Lots and lots of different ones.

Thank you sooo much Monika x.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge on the Papertake Blog is:-

Onto this weeks challenge 'Blue and Green should never be seen?' This weeks
challenge is to use these two colours together!

This gave me a chance to use my new SU set "Seeing spots" and my new jumbo wheel "Petals". I used two contrasting papers from the Rouge De Garance range. I stamped the blue paper with old olive ink using the petals wheel and then using the word window punch I punched out the window to put the sentiment "wonderful " in. This is also a SU stamp. I used the seeing spots stamps to make the inners for the scallops and then added a brad to each middle. Just a bit of dotty ribbon to the middle of the card to cover the join.

Stamps:- Stamping up - Seeing Spots & Petals wheel. Sentiment - SU Warm Words

Scallops:- Cricut cartridge - Mini Monograms

Papers:- Rouge De Garance

Ismaki Challenge # 8

Here is the sketch for this week's Ismaki Challenge #8 and the second option was to add a ribbon.

Here is my take on the challenge. I did the sketch and the 2nd option with the ribbon this time.
I used a pad of CreaMotion papers that I've had for ages and just looked at because I didn't want to cut them up! As it turns out I had to do quite a big of cutting them up. I paper pieced Tilda and also cut out some of the little flowers to make some dimension to the card. The green panel is distress around the edges with some sandpaper amd all the layers have been edged with distress ink. The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp which I layered onto brown Bazill and then cut around the flower.
Beatrix made this sketch this time, thanks Beatrix! There are some really lovely sketches to follow each week. If you would like to take part, this week's sketch is here.
Stamps:- Magnolia:- windy Tilda & SU sentiment - Best Blossoms
Papers:- Crea Motion

Lynn's Blog Candy Friendship Card

Lynn is offering up some blog candy as she has hit 100 posts. Well I say "some" but blimey it is quite a bit of candy actually!! The criteria was to make a card with the theme of "Friends".

I just made a simple card for this one because I think the stamp is so sweet. I have used a 2005 set from Stampin Up called "And everything nice". The papers are all from Basic Grey, the Lily Kate range. I cut out some of the flowers from the 12x12 papers and added zoomz to their middles and then overlapped them on the paper and main image. Just a bit of ribbon to finish off.

Why not go and have a look at Lynn's blog and enter the blog candy comp? You'll find it here.

Stamps:- Stampin Up
Papers:- Basic Grey - Lily Kate

Tilda & Co Challenge #8

This week's challenge #8 for the Tilda & Co blog was... Wishing You Well.

And here is my take on it, a little gift box for maybe chocolates? I used a Cricut Cartridge to make the box and put in a little acetate window. The tag was also made with the Cricut. All the papers, brads and heart clasp are from a Go Go Greetings monthly kit. And so sorry I don't have a clue who the papers are by :-/. I paper pieced Tilda with the same range of papers. I put in the box some yellow tissue paper so that it shows through the window.

Here is the top view of the box. The flower shape was part of the box and intertwines so you can close the box. I added some dimension to it by putting on some matching blooms with a tiny brad in the middle. The text "Get Well Soon" is from a clear set of stamps by Francoise Read called must have retro words.

If you would like to see all the other Design Team work , why not go to the Tilda & Co Challenge blog? The DT make some really inspirational things. Why not even have a go at a project yourself?

Stamps:- Magnolia & Francoise Read.
Cricut Cartridge:- Tags,bags,boxes & more.
Papers, brads, blooms & heart clasp:- Go Go Greetings monthly kit.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This week's Papertake Weekly Challenge is "Spring in your step".

This weeks challenge - 'Spring in your step!' is to make a card (or other
item!) with a spring theme! Easter and Mother's Day both fall early this year
and with me daffs out in the garden already it seemed a good theme!

And here is my take on the theme. An Easter card. See all those Easter eggs piled up in the back of the truck? Lol none for me I'm dieting! :-(
I tried to use papers with spring type colours. They are from a Sarah's card kit and are from Foof-a-la range. The stamps are from Stamping Up - loads of love set. I haven't used these in ages , I forgot how easy they are to work with. The scallops are made using the Mini monogram cricut cartridge and I used a cat's eyes ink pad to ink up the edges of them. The ribbon is from a friend in the US.

If you would like to see the other entries or have a go , have a look at the Papertake blog it is here.

Stamps:- Stamping Up
Scallops:- Cricut cartridge - Mini Monograms
Papers:- Foof-a-la
Blooms:- Sarah's cardmaking kit

Ismaki Challenge #7

Here is the Ismaki Challenge #7 sketch for this week.

And here is the card I made for the challenge. I used one of the new Lola stamps which are part of the Sugar Nellie range and some paper that I had left over from a kit. I love these papers and was a bit loathe to use the last lot up. They are from the Kelly Panacci range.

If you would like to take part in these challenges you can find the blog here.

2008 Mini Album

Here is a little album I made today using the Cricut cartridge, Fabulous Finds. Inside is four little booklets. The outer cover is tied up with ribbon.

My idea is to put a recent photo on the front page of the booklets of each of my four kids and write a little piece inside the booklet about what they are up to at the moment ie, school, likes and dislikes, that kind of thing.

Stamps:- Magnolia
Papers:- Blonde Moments
Album & booklets:- Cricut cartridge - Fabulous Finds

Tilda & Co Challenge #7- String-Aling

The challenge for the Tilda & Co #7 is String-Aling this week. You have to use string on your work, so I made this folder.

My string is on the little parcel and envelopes holding them together.
The text, folders, oval , tabs and paperclips were all made using my Cricut.
Tilda's wings, fur on her coat and hat have diamond stickles on.
The seals on the envelopes and letters have diamond glaze on them.
Tilda is coloured in with prismas and zest it.

If you would like to have a go at the challenge you can find it here.
There are some really gorgeous pieces done by the Design Team , plenty to inspire you!!

Katharina's Blog Candy Challenge

Katharina has reached 10 000 hits on her blog so she is having a blog candy challenge. The candy is one of the stamps that I don't have and really like. I had to ask a friend for some images of this stamp , so fingers crossed. x

Here is the sketch that we had to work with. It was a great sketch and I really enjoyed doing it.

And here is my take on the sketch. Tilda, steps and butterflies are Magnolia stamps. And they have all been paper pieced. Tilda's wings (as always) have diamond stickles on them. The swirls are from Rhonna Farrer. The gorgeous ribbon is from my friend Sandy in the US. The sentiment is computer generated. And the strip of circles has been cut from an Urban Lily paper.

If you would like to have a go at the challenge it is on Katharina's blog here.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This week's Papertake Challenge is "simply stripes". So I've made this card for it. Annie sent me some lovely images (thanks Annie) so I used two of them. I used a glitter gel pen on all the hearts to make them sparkle a bit. I also used some glossy accents on the towel, cookies and her hair band. The striped background paper is by Urban Lily - urban rock star collection. I got the little crochet flowers from a German craft shop ages ago and just found them under a pile of stamps!! I hung the tea towel on some ribbon that I received from a friend in the US.
If you want to take a look at the Papertake Challenge site it is here.

Ismaki Challenge # 6

Here is the sketch for the Ismaki Challenge # 6. This week it was Kianel's turn to do the challenge.

If you would like to take a look at the challenge and take part you can get all the details here on the blog. The DT do some fantastic work.

So here is my take on the challenge. I try to use a different make of stamp every week and so far I've managed it. I've used my new Bella stamp and coloured it in with prismas and zest it. The paper, card, ribbon and blooms are from Sarah's monthly kit. I'm gradually working my way through them. The text I just printed off the computer and layered it with the same card.

House Mouse Valentine's Card

A quickie card, well it is for me. It usually takes me all morning to make one card but this has took me about 45 minutes. The lovely images and ribbon are from my US friend Sandy. See several posts down. I sponged the outer edges of the images with TH distress inks.

I thought this could be a masculine Valentine's card with the mellow colours.
All the papers and hearts are from the Basic Grey - Mellow range.

Papers:- Basic Grey - Mellow
Stamps:- House Mouse

Tilda & Co Challenge # 6

So this week's challenge on the Tilda & Co challenge blog is.....

Recycling Mothers !!!!

Here is my take on it. I used a tall frankfurter jar to make into a vase for Mother's Day. I covered it in the paper and then added the Magnolia image and embellies. Most of it was from a Go Go Greetings kit. I added the ribbon to hide the neck of the jar. To add a bit more dimension I stuck down some little prima flowers to her basket.
If you would like to have a go at the challenge all the details are here.
All you need is something to recycle with and a Magnolia image! You have until next Sunday 10am.
And this week is a prize week , so the best piece of art work will win a great prize. None of us Design Teamers can win the prize though. :-(

Stamp:- Magnolia

My First Lola Card

Been busy with a DT piece but managed to make this. Why does it take so long for me to make one card?
Anyway it started off with Lola in a scallop circle but didn't look right so I trimmed her instead. I used a Go Go Greetings kit and I know what the papers are for a change (see below).

Has Christmas come early???????

I was feeling a bit fed up today as I couldn't get any mail as DH is away , but then a knock on the door and there was my mail. Some kind soul had brought it round for me!! And boy was there lots!!! I have to thank these people.....

Nic for the Magnolia skull & crossbones, Annie for the other Magnolia images and gorgeous card. Thanks girls.

Sandy from US for these fantastic HM, Hopper and Stampendous images. And a fantastic surprise of these gorgeous ribbons. We swapped images as she really wanted some Sugar Nellies. Thanks Sandy and I'll be sending you images of the new ones. (see next pic).

I also received my new set of Lola stamps from the Sugar Nellie range from Funky Kits. I've been looking forward to getting these for ages.

And then these 3 Bellas from Kitty at First Class Crafts.

So I'm a happy girl but too tired to play tonight so I'll be "at it" tomorrow morning as soon as the kids are at school!!!

Hmm still waiting on 11 new Magnolias though!!!

Cherish

Ok Kim so you were right they are addictive. :-).

So this is a Spring card called Cherish. You can't see to well the cherish word but it's on the right hand side of the base. I used the SU word window punch to make the slit and then used the SU stamp "cherish".
Sorry but I don't have a clue who the paper is by as I got in a Go Go Greetings kit as were the little hearts. The scallops are cut out using the Cricut. And the stamps are my new ones by LeLo Designs. Coloured in the usual way with prismas and zest it.

Spring Card

I was having a little look online today and came across this type of card called a Spring Card. So I thought I'd have a go. Really simple to make too. Oh and a good chance to use one of my new stamps :-) coloured in with prismas and zest it of course.

Papers:- Foof a la
Stamp:- LeLo Designs

Handsome chappie lol.

I felt so bad putting pics up of the rest of the kids that I had to put this photo up of my 14 year old son , Elliott. This was taken awhile back but he still looks almost the same. A cheeky little devil!!!

Layouts!!!!

I thought I'd just show these today. I'm not really a scrapper but this is my DT work for Crop 'til you Drop. I was quite pleased with how they came out.

The first one you'll know about if you read the previous post. I didn't want to cut the papers up too much as they were so pretty and if I had made cards from them I would have. These papers are from Creative Imaginations. I cut the flowers out from another sheet of the same range and added a button to each of the middles to co-ordinate with Sigourney's top.

This is a school photo of my two youngest taken in November last year. I like the way it is done in sepia tones. These papers are from the American Crafts Bookshelf range. Again I added buttons to give it a fun look.

All supplies come from
Crop 'til you Drop.
Papers:- Creative Imaginations & American Crafts

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Sigourney!!!

It's my beautiful daughter's 17th birthday today. She celebrated by going out last Saturday with her mates but today she has to go to school as she is in the 6th form.

Time flies.

On a sadder note it is my FIL George's birthday today who sadly passed away in January of this year.

Happy Birthday George. x Always in our thoughts.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge was " Blooming Gorgeous".

So for this card I used one of my new stamps from LeLo Designs. All the papers are from another Sarah's monthly card kit. The scalloped squares and the "blooms" are all cut using the Cricut.

Papers:- MOD
Blooms:- Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials
Scallop sqaures:- Plantin Schoolbook

Wow good service!!

I've ordered 11 new Magnolia stamps , they'll be a while coming, the new Lola stamps from Funky Kits, which I can't get hold of as they have to get sent to camp and as Rob is away I can't get my post. So the poor things are probably just sitting there waiting. Sooo yesterday afternoon I found a new stamp store online in Germany called LeLo designs. Had a look and decided to cheer myself up by ordering a few and guess what they plopped on my mat this morning!!! How's that for good service??!! And I got a little freebie stamp. I have some DT work to do this morning so I don't know if I'll get chance to have a play with them but if I do I'll post something on the blog later.

Ismaki Challenge # 5

This week's challenge over on the Ismaki challenge blog is this sketch. There was also a 2nd option too which was...
colours: brown & turquoise or
colours: brown & rose
So I decided to do the brown and turquoise.

And here is the finnished card. I had just received a gorgeous kit from Go Go Greetings with just the right colours so I used that. And of course Edwin sitting on a pencil , but the pencil was removed and the pile of books is from Magnolia too.

If you would like to have a go at the challenge you can find details on the Ismaki blog here.

Sweet Sugar Challenge #1

Here is my card for the first Sweet Sugar Challenge. The theme for this one was "stars & stripes". I already had the rock star coloured in so I just had to find the matching papers. Luckily I had a DCWV scrapbook kit pad in the same colour match. The stars were cut out with my Cricut.

The challenges are once a fortnight on a Monday and you can find the blog here.

Stamp:- Sugar Nellie

Paper:- DCVW scrapbook kit pad

Sentiment:- Stamping Up

Die cuts:- Cricut cartridge Plantin Schoolbook

I've been tagged.......

So today I've been tagged by Katharina , thanks Katharina. :-)

Lol luckily enough I have one quite short middle name, so should be easy.....

Here are the rules: You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged, and need to read your blog for details)

J - Jolly (sorry that was a hard one to think of).

A - Addicted to stamps. I go throught phases, at the moment it's Magnolias and Sugar Nellies.

Y - Yearn. I yearn to live abroad by the sea and one day I will!!!!

N - Never short of love and hugs. (Don't be sick!). I have a fantastic husband who tells me he loves me every day and four beautiful children who love hugs.

E - Embarassingly shy. I go red at the slightest thing!!

I'm doing this at 7.25 am in between getting the kids ready for school so I'll tag the names later.

Tilda & her bugs

This is what has been keeping me quiet this morning. My poor cricut sits there silent most of the time so I got my finger out and used it!!
I paper pieced Tilda this time with the same pad of papers that I used for the frame and background. I used two different pads of 8x8 papers they are by Crea Motion, ( I think they are a German company)?
The little jar was cut out using the "stretch your imagination" cartridge. I used the silhouette feature to make the blue outline bit of the jar and then I used acetate with the shadow feature to try and make the shiny jar look. The little bugs are from stretch your imagination too. You can just about see them in the jar. The frame is also from the same cartridge.
The flowers and vines are from the "accent essentials" cartridge.
Stamps:- Magnolia
Papers:- Crea Motion
Die cuts:- Cricut cartridges, stretch your imagination and accent essentials

Tilda & Co Challenge # 5 - Romance/Buckles

Here is my card that I made for the DT over on the Tilda & Co Challenge blog. The theme this week for challenge #5 was "Romance/Buckles". So I made this big buckle card.
The Tilda, parcel of hearts and the background grid heart are all Magnolia stamps. They are coloured in with prismas and zest it.
The papers are all from a last year Hot Off The Press kit as are the "love heart" brads.
To make the "buckle" I used a Stampin Up word window punch.

Here is another view of the card open so you can see the strap open.

If you fancy having a go at the challenge you can find the blog here. Why not go and have a look , there are some wonderful inspiring pieces from the Design Team girls. You never know it might inspire you to make your own!!

Big Buckle and Tilda Card

I managed to find the time to make this today. It's called a big buckle card. There is a tutorial on Stamping Up to follow. I used my newest Sarah Cards monthly kit for most of it and I remembered the name of the papers. See bottom of this post.
I coloured the sitting Tilda in with prismas and zest it. The little window at the top left hand corner was done with the word window punch and I stamped the welcome with a SU stamp.
Tilda was attached onto the actual belt strap so she could move when the card was opened.

Here's another view of the card, open. As you can see you adhere a "belt strap" and the card closes by putting the strip through the opening. The opening was made with the SU word window punch.

The card was finnished off with some blooms and ribbons which came with the monthly kit.

Spread the love award!!!

Today I was given this award by a lovely lady called Annie. Thank you :-).
So I would like to pass this award onto.....
thanks girls , I love to look at your work!
