Just Another Day.....

I received some new stamps the other day all the way from the US. They are acrylic stamps and I had a bit of a job finding the right ink to use on them, in the end I used black adirondak . I usually use Stazon but have seen that it can damage acrylic stamps. I used the adirondak because it was waterproof and I wanted to colour the image in and use zest it to blend.
All the stamps are little individual stamps so you can dress your monkey up how you want to. I think on this card I used about 11 tiny individual stamps!! I still have a lot more that I didn't use yet. Lots of masking going on here too. The sentiment is also part of the set.

Wings

Anything with wings is fine.

Here is mine. I love these little stamps they are by CC Designs and Heather gave me this particular one. Thanks again Heather. All the papers and embellies are from a SU simply scrappin set. I sponged some Adirondak cranberry ink around the main image to help make it stand out. Added some zoomz and there you are finished product. :0)

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge

Here's my ATC. I used Scenic Route papers which I had left over from making cards. I cut out the flowers from the same paper. I used the Magnolia image of Martha which Deb kindly sent me :0) thanks again Deb! I coloured her in with prismas and zest it. I added a little bow to her dress pocket. The sentiment "happy" was done with my dymo. As you can see my 3 colours were orange, green and cranberry.

Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife

I just wanted to post a quick review about this craft knife I bought recently. It's made by Fiskars and is a really good tool. I would normally use one of your run of the mill craft knives but with this one you put it on your index finger and use it as you would a pencil. I find my cutting is a lot more accurate and my finger doesn't ache. It's not expensive either I bought mine for £2.99. I think it's a good buy!

Arty Girlz Challenge

I've just found this challenge blog and couldn't wait to get started on today's challenge which is
Challenge #29 - Black & White


Here is my card. I used Rouge de Garance for the background paper. I then lightly brushed the edges with Gesso. With white embossing powder and versamark I stamped the Rhonna Farrer swirl stamps. The image and sentiment are from Art Journey and I stamped them both onto stamp board with black stazon. I also scratched out some of the highlights on the little boy stamp. I then edged each piece of stampboard with some black UTEE.

Ismaki Challenge # 14

Here is the sketch for the Ismaki Challenge # 14. And the option was to use ribbons.

Here is my interpretation of the sketch. I also used the option of using ribbon. It took me a while to do because I had to get the shape measurements right in order for it to all fit onto the card. The images are from Hanna stamps which Heather kindly sent me. :0) thanks again Heather! I coloured them in the usual way with prismas and zest it. I don't know why but the lighter colours seem to have gone a bit grubby. So don't look too closely!! ;0). The papers which are made by Scenic Routeare all from my Go Go Greetings monthly kit . The little chipboard buttons are from K & Co, wild saffron. I adhered all the images with 3D foam pads to make them all stand out.

Arty Girlz Challenge

A new challenge for me today, a bit late but just got in as the challenges are posted on a Tuesday.
The challenge is the Arty Girlz Challenge # 28 - " Triangles." You can find the blog here....

So here is my triangle card. I used Fancy Pants paper for the base and also to back the image. I then layered the image with some brown bazill cardstock. The image is a Rakle stamp kindly sent to me by Heather along with lots of others. Thanks Heather :0). He has been coloured in with prismas and zest it. The tag is also from Fancy Pants and I added the sentiment which is from a SU set called Curvy verses. Then I just added the ribbon and brads.

This week's challenge # 14 for the Tilda & Co Challenge blog is....

Stitch me up!

We would love to see your work involve Stitches!!!
Now this could be as
simple as Hand stitching , Machine Stitching or even Faux stitching.
Whatever
your stitching is try to make sure it is the main focus of the work to get the
stitching point across.

I decided to try out a flap card for this challenge. My sewing machine has broken so I couldn't do "proper" stitching. So instead I decided to do some faux stitching. Around the edges of the papers I pricked some holes 3mm apart and then joined them up with a marvy le plume pen to make it look like stitching. All the papers are by Scenic Route. I then coloured in the Magnolia images with prismas and zest it. I must just say thank you so much to Deb for sending me the images, :0). I used glossy accents on his pockets,buttons, root and toadstool. On the top and bottom of the flap I added some ribbon with stitching on. William and his toadstool were then stuck on with 3D pads. The happy birthday was made with a dymo machine.

Cute Card Thursday

Challenge #4 for the Cute Card Thursday blog was...

Planes, trains and automobiles

and here is my card for this week's theme. I don't have many transport themed stamps but I did have this image sent to me. Sorry but I've forgotten who sent it to me :0(. I coloured the image in with prismas and zest it and added some diamond glaze to her boots and little pocket. I also added some diamond stickles to her broomsticks speed lines. All the papers are Rouge de Garance. The sentiment I used the online dymo font and cut it up. The blooms, brads and ribbon were just stuff I already had in my stash.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has left me an award on their blog. I was going to sort them all out this evening but Robbyn is coughing again and wants her mummy. Tomorrow I have a busy day as we are off to Ikea for some bunk beds and there is ALWAYS a traffic jam and loads of people there. So please forgive me if I don't get round to doing them anytime soon. Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge

Wednesday again and this week's challenge for the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge is.....

Checks

So this week it's Checks - it could be gingham or tartan paper or ribbon or
anything else you can find that has checks on it

Here is my ATC. All the papers used are from a HOTP soft collection pad. I stamped the grid heart Magnolia stamp all over the backing paper with purple stazon to add a bit of depth. Tilda is paper pieced with the HOTP papers. I added two eyelets to the top and bottom right hand corner and threaded through some ribbon. To finish off I added the little green heart gem.

Ismaki Challenge

Challenge # 13 for the Ismaki Challenge blog is to follow this sketch. It was drawn by Petra, who is on the Magnolia DT and does some outstanding work.



There is also two additional options for this sketch.

I managed to follow the sketch and do the two options. The photo is pretty bad with some shadows on but I had to take it this morning and it was dull outside. I've used my Sarah's monthly cardmaking kit again for this card so I don't know who the papers are by. For the swirls I used a Rhonna Farrer clear stamp set. The sentiment is from a SU set and says "I'm here for you always... please know that I care." The cute Sarah Kay image is one that Fran sent me (thanks Fran). I coloured her in with prismas and zest it. To accentuate the stamped swirls I added some little gold and crystal peel off dots. I don't think you can see them very well though.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This week's Papertake Challenge is

Making Waves

This weeks challenge is nice and easy! 'Making Waves' - the challenge is to use
scallops or zig-zags (or both if your really keen lol!) on your project!

So for my card I added some zigzag ribbon and a scalloped edge border. The images was kindly sent to me by Claudia. Thanks Claudia. She has saved me from colouring them in by stamping them with the appropriate coloured inks. I used an embossing folder for the images background and cut around the branch so I could thread the monkey's tail through. All the papers, card, ribbon and blooms come from my Sarah's monthly cardmaking kit.

March ATC Swap
