Cute Card Thursday

The theme this week for the Cute Card Thursday blog is

Music and Dance

Here is my card

All the papers are from Stampin Up and are called Spiced Cider. Just the right colours for a masculine card. The frame has been cut with my Cricut and layered onto 3D pads. The image is from Magnolia and has been coloured with promarkers and then I've used 3D pads again to make him stand out a little. Both the notes and the sentiment are stamps from Stamp Away.

House Mouse Monday Challenge

Interesting one this week for the House Mouse Monday Challenge it's Tall and Thin. I very rarely make a DL card but I had a go for this one.

Please click on pic for a better view.
I thought this Gruffie stamp would be perfect. It's called Tower of presents. I paper pieced the presents and added some details with sakura pens. Gruffie has been coloured with promarkers. All the papers are from a pad by GSD studio. The top and bottom strips have been punched out with a Martha Stewart punch. For the sentiment I used a Hero Arts clear stamp which I stamped onto the word window punch tag from SU. I then layered it onto two of the tags put together.

As always the DT cards are gorgeous you really should take a look at them here

A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge

Another Tuesday and it's time again for the A Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge. This week it is

Doodle Doo

We would love to see some doodling on your cards. This could be hand drawn
or if you have scrolls and swirl stamps you can also use these.

Here is my card

Now I'm sorry but I don't have a clue who the papers are by, I received these papers ages ago as a prize. If anyone knows could they let me know please as I used the last of them and I'd like some more, they are gorgeous! The image is by Whippersnapper and I have firstly coloured him in with promarkers and then goen over his shell with glossy accents. The sentiment is made from a ATB tape writer. My doodling is on the back ground papers in green. For the doodling I used a template as my freehand is not so good. I went over the doodling with a sakura star pen too, to try and make it stand out a bit better. Just finnished it all off with a ribbon tied into a bow.
Sorry it's not a great pic but I had to take the pic a minute ago and the light is not good, it's raining here and dull.

The other DT members have made some great doodling cards , why not go over and have a peek? You can find all the details here

In Style Sneek Peek & Friday Sketchers

I have another sneek peek for you from In Style Stamps. This time it is a new stamp from the Retro range and her name is Lindsay. She will be available to buy on Friday 13th along with two new friends, Sasha and Steph. There will be more sneek peeks on the In Style blog.

I've combined the sneek peek with the challenge from Friday Sketchers. Claudia created the sketch this week and here it is

And here is my card (please click on it if you would like a closer look).

I put Lindsay onto a nestabilitie circle and coloured her in with promarkers and inked the edges of the circle. I then cut out the scalloped circle on my Cricut so I could add a layer to the image. The papers are from a K & Co pad and have been layered onto cream card to match the card blank. I used the PC to make the sentiment. The swirls are made from a Quickutz Flourish die. I thought I'd put the date stamp on the card to make out that she had an appointment to keep at the hairdressers. I added a gem to the date. Sorry I can't remember who the date stamp is by, I've had it sitting at the bottom of my desk for ages.

Feeling Old

Ok so I'm feeling old today. It is my eldest daughter's 18th birthday today. Where did those 18 years go?? I still remember that little premature baby lying in an incubator with drips all over her. And now she is off tonight out on the town with her mates. Very soon she will be off to Uni too.

Happy 18th Birthday Sigourney, love you very much. xxxx

Alota stamps

I just managed to make a quick card using some of the new Alota stamps.(Please click on the pic for a closer view).

I've used one of the frames from the Pretty Ovals set. I stamped it onto an oval which I cut with my cricut and coloured it in with promarkers and a selection of sakura pens. The bow has been paper pieced and is also from this set. The girl image is called Girlfriend Claudia, she has also been coloured with promarkers.I embossed the strip on the right with a cuttlebug embossing border and then lightly sponged over it with a lettuce ink pad. Sorry I'm not too sure who the papers are by, I have a feeling they are Crate papers, but not 100% sure.

I also have some other news for you from Alota. Helene has just added some gorgeous new stamps to the online shop , just in time for Easter. Chicks, rabbits, daffs etc, you can see them all here

And even more news! Over on Paper Craft Planet, Michelle (another DT member) has set up a Valentine challenge, with the prize being two stamps. One is the chocolate box and the other is of course the Michelle and Bonnie stamp. You can find all the details here

And here is my card

I have used a Greetings Farm image called Geisha Anya. She's been coloured in with promarkers and I added a little gold spacer to her hair. All the papers are from a Dovecraft Eastern Blooms pad. I added some ribbon and threaded through it a butterfly charm. I then just added the gold spacers.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge

This week the theme for the Tilda & Friends ATC blog is

Warm it up

Brrrrr! is it cold where you are? The UK has seen a covering of snow
this week, even here in Cornwall! So to warm things up a bit we would like to
see you create an ATC this week with warm colours or a warming theme.

Here is my ATC

I've used a Red Riding Hood Anya for this one (just discovered these, thank you Nikki). She's been coloured with promarkers. The dp is from a Basic Grey Stella Ruby pad. I've layered two different sheets. I then just added the ribbon and gems. The sentiment has been made on the computer. Maybe a bit obscure for the them Warm it up but I was thinking that she is bundled up in her cloak and hood and I've used warm colours?

This month we have Beth as our GD. She has made a gorgeous ATC, why not go over and have a look? You can find us here

House Mouse Monday Challenge DT Call

Okay so I ummed and ahhed about doing this, I mean have you seen the talent they have on the DT ? I'd love to work beside them every Monday. And anyway I just ordered "a few" new House Mouse stamps. ;0) A good excuse eh? I'd love to be on the House Mouse DT, the stamps are just so gorgeous and you'll find one for any occasion. I look forward to seeing the DT's cards every Monday and joining in with the challenge.

So here are my 3 samples

Fingers crossed then! And Good luck to those that have entered.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Over on the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge blog the theme is Valentines. So instead of the usual card I made another origami box. I love these just the right size for putting your bits in on your craft desk. But this one you could put chocolates or jewellery in for your loved one.
I have to apologise for the photos, Rob has gone off with the best camera!!

So here it is
I used a nice Bazill cs for the base and cover as it is sturdy. Sorry but I don't know who makes the papers I have had them ages!! Anyway I covered the cs for the lid with the papers and then added the decorative edges. I made these with the same cs and a Martha Stewart punch. I then added the ribbon to cover up the lines. The image is called "Everything is coming up roses" and has been coloured in with promarkers and a little bit of sakura glaze pen. I layered that onto some of the same cs. The sentiment is also a House Mouse stamp. I then added the embellies, some gems and 3 blooms held together with a brad.

Here is the side view. I used two heart brads to fasten the box, one on the top and one on the side and then threaded through some ribbon. I just tied the ribbon to make the box close.

The DT always make some fab cards, really inspirational , you can see them all at the blog here

A Spoon Full Of Sugar

This week for the A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge Blog there is a sketch. It has been created by our Guest Designer for the is week and that is Tina. And it's a great sketch to work with too.

Here is the sketch

And here is my card
I've used Cherry Arte papers and rub ons for this one. The images and sentiments are from Alota. First of all I stamped out the circle heart from from the brand new set called Pretty Circle Essentials Frames. I coloured it with promarkers and then cut it out. I then stamped and coloured the Alota sitting girl bug and also cut her out. I used 3D pads to adhere the circle and then the same pads to adhere the bug to the frame, just to make them stand out a bit. The sentiment is from a little set called chocolate kisses/my sweet love. I adhered the sentiment to a circle of cs that had a rub on put onto it. I finished it all off by just adding a few rub ons here and there.

No card yet but ....

No cards to show yet but I am very pleased with myself. Last Monday I started the Weight Watchers diet. There are no clubs here and I can't afford the online one so I am doing it by myself. Well I was very surprised this morning to see that after just one week I'd lost 4 lbs!!! I know it will be a slow struggle from now on but it's a good start. I want to be my ideal weight by July when we go back to live in the UK.
If anyone has any tips or recipes I'd be grateful for them . TIA.
