Cute Card Thursday

Great theme this week on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog its....

In The House

The challenge this week is to make a card with the theme of 'In The House', anything which can be found in the home is fine and we are looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

The Alota stamps came out again! I've used the window, settee and bugs.
First of all I made the background with two contrasting papers, they are from the Stampin Up designer papers range. I then added a thin strip of cs to seperate the floor from the wall. The window was stamped and cut out and then I coloured in the wood with prismas and zest it. Acetate was added to cover the panes.I paper pieced the curtain and rail. To make the scene i stamped two poppy images with green ink and then paper pieced the head of the flowers. To make the frame I stamped part of the window and cut out a square, coloured it the same way and then added some acetate and the sentiment. To "hang" it I stuck on some thread and used a brad to hang it on the "wall".
The sofa was again paper pieced with two
contrasting papers. The bugs were coloured with prismas and zest it and a little bit of stickles to their wings. I then stuck them on with 3D pads.

Stamps:- Alota
Papers:- Stampin Up designer papers - Le Jardin

There is a fantastic prize this week, two of Katharina's new stamps from Whiff Of Joy stamps. Makes me wish I could win too, but sadly I can't!!

Welcome little bug

I received my new stamps from Alota today , they are just out and are called Lilly Ladybugs. They come on an unmounted sheet , 7 images and 9 phrases. They are real cute!!
Here's my first card made with the Lilly ladybug and pram.

I've coloured in Lilly and her pram with prismas and zest it. I then layered her onto one layer of patterned paper and then one layer of card. I then added the photo corners. Two contrasting papers were used for the background , I cut out a semi circle to place in the middle and then added a strip of paper down the left hand side. To the strip I added some eyelets and then some pearly buttons to the middle of the patterned paper. Finally I added some more photo corners and the sentiment.

Stamps: Alota Lilly Ladybugs
Papers:- Stampin Up designer papers - Petals & Paisleys
Corners:- Thin Cuts - Photo Corners
Eyelets & Buttons - from my stash

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge

Beads
This week our theme is Beads, big ones, little ones, any size
you like! We are keeping it easy for you again and don't forget, we have a
special prize for a lucky under 16 year old again this week.

Here is my ATC. I've used Foof a la papers for the background and to paper piece Tilda and her bird. The beads are on a wire which I've tucked around the bottom of the ATC and covered it with the paper. No idea where they came from as I found them in my drawer unit and I've had them for ages. Just 3 little prima flowers at the top to finish it off. A nice simple one!
Papers:- Foof a la
Stamps:- Magnolia

As always some great ATCs from the DT can be seen on the blog, you can find out all the details here

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Great theme this week on Papertake Weekly Challenge, it's...

Cool Yule
This weeks challenge is to make a Christmas card! Yes, about 5 months to
Christmas now so the countdown begins for us crafters!!!

I made a quick card for this one as the kid's wanted to play pictochat! So I've used a lovely pink card for covering the blank card and then added three panels of paper. This paper was the only Christmassy looking one that I received in my Sarah's cardmaking kit , so I saw it and used it!! I then stamped the Alota bear stamp onto a scalloped piece of white card and layered it onto another piece of the pink card. I then stamped and coloured the Alota holly stamp and coloured it in and added some diamond glaze to the berries. I cut them out leaving a little white border to make them stand out. They were stuck on with 3D pads. Next I stamped on two Alota snowflakes and used Stampin Up heat and stick powder with some Stampin Up glitter. Not sure you can see it clearly in the pic.

Stamps:- Alota
Paper:- Sassafras

That's one card less to make for Xmas then!! ;0)

A Spoon Full Of Sugar

Back quicker than I thought!!

So the theme for A Spoon Full Of Sugar this week is....

Animal Magic

we would love you to make a card with an animal somewhere in the design.

Here is my card. I used a ladybug and friends -Give me a hug stamp from Funky Kits. The papers I can't remember who they are by but they are gorgeous colours! The blooms are from a Sarah's cardmaking kit. The swirls are a die cut called Flourish. The sentiment has been done by using a word punch from Stampin Up and I've stamped the adorable on the inside of the card to show through.
There's a great prize for one lucky winner of a High Hopes stamp. So why not join in with this week's challenge? You can find all the details here

http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/
and of course take a look at the DT's fab work.

Stamp:- Ladybug & Friends
Die cuts:- Quickutz Flourish
Punch:- Stampin Up
Sentiment:-Warm Words

Read all about it..... Alota News!

Another blistering day here today. I couldn't sleep last night it was much too hot so I made this. I received my monthly Sarah's cardmaking kit yesterday and used it straight away. Some gorgeous colours in this month's kit!

How lucky am I to use stamps that I love for free? I received these ones in my Alota DT package. First of all I stamped the Alota news stamp onto white card and then I made a mask of it as the middle is left blank. I masked it off and then stamped another one of the Country Girls in the middle. The girl is coloured in with prismas and zest it but I sponged the newspaper with cream and raspberry chalk inks. I then layered the image onto 2 lots of contrasting card. The papers, ribbons and embellies all came with the Sarah's cardmaking kit. The Happy Birthday sentiment is another Alota stamp.

Stamps:- Alota
Papers:- Sassafras - Life is Beautiful

I'll be back later to show you my Spoon Full Of Sugar DT card. :0)

Happy Day

It is sooo hot here today almost too hot too craft and certainly too hot to venture outside with the kids!! But I made this today to send to Helene of Alota Stamps for my DT.

The stamps are of course from Alota stamps. The house and the girl are seperate stamps. The girl is from a set called Country Girls and the house is called New Home. The sentiment is also from the Country Girls range. The papers are another Stampin Up designer set, I'm really enjoying working with these. I've added some embellies too. The little pink button has some glittery thread through it. I put two yellow eyelets down the left hand side and threaded some ribbon through to tie it into a bow. The sentiment has been layered onto some cream card and to match it up I stamped some of the tulips, cut them out and added them. Oh and I also added some photo corners using some contrasting paper.

Stamps:- Alota
Papers:- SU Le Jardin

Friday Sketchers

Haven't done this one for a while but had an image ready so thought I'd have a go and use that.
This week on the Friday Sketchers challenge blog there was a sketch by Jacqueline to follow.

Here's Jacqueline's sketch.

And here's my take on the sketch. I've used some gorgeous stamps from Alota. I got my DT package a couple of days ago and wow, was I spoilt. Loads and loads of them. Massive thanks to Helene, but I think she knows how chuffed I was in my email to her :0) So you know what's coming up on my blog don't you?
Anyway on to the card. The window, scene, bees and sentiment are all from Alota and sold seperately, so you can make up your own scenes.
All have been coloured in with prismas and zest it, except the curtain which I paper pieced to go with the papers. And talking of papers these are all from Stampin Up, designer papers. Just added the brads as I didn't think the card needed too many embellies.

Stamps:- Alota
Papers:- Stampin Up - Cutie Pie
Scallops:- Cricut - mini monograms

Cute Card Thursday

This week's theme for the Cute Card Thursday blog is.....

Things That Grow

The obvious things would be plants etc but really there are lots more things
that grow, we look forward to seeing your own interpretations!

So me not being very imaginative thought straight away of flowers. I'd just received the stamp set that I've used on my card in the post, it had flowers, so it was a good excuse to try it out.

I've used my new papers from Stampin Up and of course the Stampin Up set, Oh So Lovely. To colour the image in I used my SU markers and blending pen. I then did the same image onto a scallop and put it over the original image. I sponge inked the edges of the scallop and the edges of the original image piece. The image and sentiment were layered onto more SU papers.
Then to finish off I added some brads and ribbon.
Papers:- Stampin up - Fall Flowers
Stamps:- Stampin Up - oh so lovely
Sentiment stamp:- Stampin up - Simply Said

You really should go over to the Cute Card Thursday blog and take a look at the DT's work. It's gorgeous as always and very inspirational. And then you can always join in with the challenge!

Forgot to say I used a sketch by Tiets to do this card, she has some fab sketches on her blog , thank you Tiets.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges

A nice easy one for you this week it's

Buttons

On to this week's theme, an easy peasy one for you all as the holidays have
started and we are all pushed for time - Buttons. I'm sure we all have a button
box or jar so this week is your chance to use up one or two, or more, of those
buttons. A quick reminder that you can join in the fun as long as there is at
least one Magnolia image on your ATC, and an ATC measures 2.5" x 3.5".

For my ATC I've used one of the Tildas in the Summer kit and coloured her in my usual way. All the buttons are chipboard buttons.

Stamp:- Magnolia
Paper:- Wild Saffron
Buttons:-K & Co

Why not have a go yourself and use up all those scraps of paper. This week because of the Summer school holidays children can join in too and there is a special prize for one under 16 year old. So now you can craft together. :0)

Papertake Weekly Challenge

I had time this week to do the Papertake Weekly Challenge, who could resist when there was another lovely sketch from Katharina to follow?

Katharina's sketch.

And here is my card, I kept it simple because I love the papers that I've used and wanted to show them to the full potential. They are from Stampin Up.
The image is a another stamp from the designer Elisabeth Bell and is called "Penpal". You can buy the designs from Funky Kits.

Stamp:- Sweet Ebony - Penpal
Papers:- Stampin Up - Petals and Paisleys
Sentiment:- Stampin Up Curvy Verses

A Spoon Full Of Sugar

For Challenge #9 on the A Spoon Full Of Sugar blog there is a fabby sketch drawn by Katharina.

Here's Katharina's sketch.

And here is my card following the sketch. I love following sketches and this one was really nice to do. I've used an Elisabeth Bell designed stamp called "sitting with bear" and coloured her in with prismas and zest it. I know I'm always using prismas but at the moment it is the best thing that I can get on with and when funds allow I'll be buying some promarkers to try. The papers are from yet another Sarah's cardmaking kit. The little sentiment is from a Scrapagogo kit.

Stamps:-Sweet Ebony "sitting with bear"
Papers:- MOD
Sentiment:- Scrapagogo stamp

There are some gorgeous DT cards again this week so why not pop over and have a look and join in with the challenge? There is a great prize for one lucky winner this week of a Rachelle Anne Miller stamp. All the details are here

You're the best!

I managed two cards today as the weather is sooo bad. One I can show the other is for the A Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge tomorrow. So here is the one I can show ;0)

I used a past Sarah's cardmaking kit for this one. The main image is an Alota stamp called Mary & Chris. I've coloured it in with prismas and zest it and added some diamond stickles and glossy accents. Although you can't really see them in the pic, they are there. The little flower above the ribbon is a rub on from Cherry Arte. I had to use the edge of an old Fiskars cutting template to get the scalloped effect.
I'm loving these Alota stamps, they are so nice to colour in and I have another order coming soon, so watch this space. I'm determined to get everyone to order them so you'll be addicted too!!
Stamp:- Alota - Mary & Chris
Papers:- Cherry Arte

Party Card

Here is a card that I made today and believe me when I say it took me all morning to do!! It originally had "you are invited to a ... party" on it, but it just didn't look right and then I muddled around with the bugs. But anyway this is the final piece.

I wanted it to look like a fancy dress party card, don't think it does though!! The base card was cut out using my Cricut as it has an aperture in the middle with a balloon shape cut out. I used HOTP papers for this one. The hexagons were also cut out with the Cricut. And of course the images are stamps from Alota. Cute aren't they? They come in an unmounted sheet and are called Paper Doll. They come in two sizes and you can find them here.

Stamps:- Alota
Papers:- HOTP
Cricut cartridges:- George Basic Shapes, Stretch your Imagination.

Cute Card Thursday

A great theme this week on Cute Card Thursday, it's

Animals Only - No People Allowed

The challenge this week is to make a card using animal images only - NO PEOPLE
OR CHARACTERS AT ALL!!We have another fabulous prize to give to one lucky winner
which has been donated by a member of the DT, a gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp - A
Little Help From Margot
.

I've had this stamp for ages but hardly used it, but I don't know why not it's so cute. I don't know why but my colouring wasn't very good on this card, I used the same method prismas and zest it, but it looks patchy and I overdid the white pen!
Anyway I used a Stampin Up Simply Scrappin set for all of the papers and embellies. The CS is also from this set and with the help of Andrea (thanks Andrea) I managed to get the spotty pattern using a cuttlebug embossing folder all over the large piece of CS. The sentiment is done by punching an aperture using a word window punch and then I stamped the "adorable" on the inside of the card for it to show through.

Stamp:- Inky Antics
Papers, CS & Embellies:- SU simply scrappin - Home Again
Punch:- SU window word punch
Sentiment:- SU warm words

As ever there are some gorgeous cards from the DT, why not go over and have a look and join in? This week there is a fab prize of a Sarah Kay stamp. Who can resist those? You can find the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog here

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge

This week the theme is....

Our Animal Friends

This week we are happy to introduce you to Michelle who is our second Once a
Month Guest Designer. Many of you will have visited Michelle's blog Stamps, Paper, Scissors and Donkey
Smiles
and oohd and aahd at her cute furry friends, so they have become the
inspiration for this week's theme 'Our Animal Friends'. You can see Michelle's
ATC and those of the Design Team below and to join in the fun with us you just
need to make an ATC with at least one Magnolia stamp on it and your animal
friend.

Here is mine. I used two Magnolia stamps and coloured them in with prismas and zest it. I was a bit naughty as I cut his wings off. For the background I used some scraps that I had left over and then I added the bone brad. I found these brads in some drawers, funny the things you find that you didn't realise you had!! And then I used my around the block tape writer. I love my new tape writer as you're not stuck with just one font.

Stamps:- Magnolia
Sentiment:- Around the Block tape writer

If you would like to join in with the challenge you can find all the details here

http://tildaandfriends.blogspot.com/

and you can also find some fab inspiration for your ATC.
