Poor Robbyn has been through the mill lately what with being in hospital and then on Christmas Eve we found a little blister on her neck which turned into full blown chicken pox. She is covered and is miserable. Bless her Christmas day of all days!!!

I don't want you all to think I have given up on my blog as I know I will be back to crafting so I thought I would just give you all a quick update.
In November my step father died of cancer, he was diagnosed in February. On the 5th of December my father in law was diagnosed with cancer too and on the 10th of December he suffered a massive stroke. He was moved to a hospice and we were told he has only a few weeks left. On the same day my youngest daughter Robbyn (4 years old) was admitted to hospital with a virus called Henoch-Schonlein Purpura which basically means she had a virus and the anti bodies were trying to fight it but then her body made too many and they started attacking her body. It was quite scary as it can cause renal collapse. She has to have urine and stool checks regurlarly now. She is now home but has to have bed rest as it can reoccur at any time. Poor mite is missing all the fun Xmas activities at school. We have our fingers crossed it doesn't show up again.
Last night we had a phone call to say that Rob's dad has suffered another stroke, so things aren't looking good.
So I am spending time with my family at the moment. My mum is also staying with us over Christmas.
I would just like to say
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
Hopefully 2008 will be a better one for our family.

Sad Times
Sorry I have not blogged in a while. Things have been a bit difficult for us. And to top it all Robbyn my youngest was admitted to hospital on Monday. Of course I stayed in the hospital with her. She was allowed to come home today but has to rest for several weeks. Maybe some time next week I will get a moment to make something.

My not so little boy
It was my youngest son's 6th birthday yesterday (5th), here he is with his football birthday cake.
It was such a shame as his Dad was away again with work.
Guess what he got for his birthday? It's an alien voice changer. Warning if your boy gets one of these you won't be listening to the TV for a while!!
The school had the Xmas play on the same day as Tyrrell's birthday , unfortunately Robbyn was unable to do her little star part as she has been off school ill for the past week. It was hard to get some good photos but here he is as a wiseman.
Sugar Nellie Knight
Here's my first card using the Sugar Nellie Knight. You can buy them from Funky Kits here and the Sugar Nellies also have a blog here.

Bauble
Forgot to add this one. This was made for the DT too. It's made out of scallop circles, then scored into triangles. Then glued all together. I painted the little cotton reels gold and threaded some red ribbon through to make it hang. Quite easy to do but a bit fiddly if you're cack handed like me!!

Sugar Nellies
I haven't managed much crafting over the last couple of days as we are trying to get the house sorted for my Mum's arrival. We pick her up on Monday and she is staying with us until the end of January, maybe longer. So I've had to pack most of my craft room away, leaving only some essentials. Most of it is packed away in the cellar and the stuff I use most is sitting in the living room now. I didn't realise just how much "stuff" I had!!
Anyway this is it , I've only managed to stamp and colour two Sugar Nellie images. I've coloured them in using distress and adirondak inks.

Tilda in wellies
Here's Tilda in her wellies. I only received her yesterday , so cute I had to make a card with her. I used distress inks to colour her in. Loving the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge, that was new yesterday too. It's a gorgeous cartridge, may even be my favourite one (at the moment)! I'm really impressed with the expression too , much more versatile than the little bug. I also used the notch and die tool to make the little triangle tab to keep the card closed.

My cricut expression turned up today!! I can't believe how cheap it was from US. It came with 4 new cartridges and some of the ink cartridges. So I have lots to play with later!! Just need to have a good read now. :-)
Tilda in the snow.
Here's Tilda in the snow. Sorry about the pic I had to use the camera as it is still a bit wet with the stickles. I'll scan it later when it's dry. I made a mini suspension card this time.
I tried colouring the image in a different way for me today , I usually use Prismas and Zest it but for this one I watercoloured it with distress inks.
Here is the card scanned this time. I think you can see it better now.

Sugar Nellie Candy Box
Look what came for me today. A Sugar Nellie Candy Box!! I won it a while ago on the Sugar Nellie blog. Gorgeous Daisy Bucket papers and fab blooms and ribbons and of course a Sugar Nellie stamp. I've since ordered 6 more of these stamps and luckily I didn't order the one that I had won. They've not arrived yet so this little one will keep me going until they do. If you want some of these little Sugar Nellie stamps you can find them here at Funky Kits. I've just coloured her in with Prismas and zest it but added some glossy accents to her so she is still a bit wet. I'll be showing her tomorrow when she is dry and ready to be made into a card.

White Christmas
I've neglected my Magnolia stamps just lately so I got them out this morning and made this card. You can never see the glittery bits on my cards but their hats and at the bottom of Tilda's feet are covered in sparkly stuff. For the hats I used stickles and for the "snow" at her feet I used iredescent glamour dust which you can get from here. I'm thinking we may get a white Christmas here as it is brass monkeys and it's been snowing on and off too.

Mini Stamps
These have just arrived. They were only £1.50 each. They are all little interlocking stamps or they can be used as one big stamp. Ideal for the middles of suspension cards. Good value I thought. I bought them online from 3D Jean in the new products bit.
Another one....
Another suspension card, this time the suspended image is from a Stampin Up set called loads of love. Paper is paper adventures again, can you tell I'm trying to use it all up??

Suspension Card
Today I made this suspension card. The first photo is a scanned one but doesn't actually show the suspended bit properly so I took the second photo with my camera. Not a very good photo but you can see the suspended bit better.
I got the idea from SCS on their project forum. The papers and jelly stickers are from a kit I got last year. The scallop frame has been done with my Cricut.

Winter has arrived.
Just about to walk out of the door to take the kids to the school bus and it started snowing. It's still coming down and there is a light layer on the ground now. It is very cold though I think the radio said -3 today!!! If it carries on and we get a lot I'll take some photos. It's predicted that we are in for a bad Winter here, in Germany. I don't mind it but when it turns to that horrible dirty slush it's awful. The older kids have to travel 1 1/2 hours by bus to get to school so it usually means they get to have extra days off because of the snow. And how come it never snows Christmas day it's always just before or just after. I'd love a white Christmas especially since my Mum is coming over to stay with us this year. I'm looking forward to going to the Christmas fairs too, they are so beautiful in Germany with lots of lovely handmade decorations. Oh and of course the gluwein and hot food!! :-)

Here's todays offering. A whippersnapper image of Rudolph. The papers, ribbon and blooms are from my Sarah's monthly card kit. The Season's Greetings is from HOTP. House Mouse
Here's one of today's cards a Christmas card using a House Mouse image. I received some lovely images from a lady off SCS called Janice. Thanks Janice! :-)The papers and the blossom are from my Sarah's card kit. You can't see very well but at the top and bottom of the card there is a length of ribbon with glittery bits in it. I bought that this morning from the German supermarket with the kit in mind. The Xmas text is from a HOTP kit. And finally the date stamp is from Fontwerks or is Fontworks? Anyway it is a useful stamp. Oh and of course the image is coloured in the usual way, Prismas and zest it.

Cricut Expression
Well I have just ordered my Christmas pressie!! A Cricut Expression with 4 cartridges and 7 ink markers. I already have the baby Cricut but was finding it too limited with the cartridges I already have. Ie. the scalloped shapes and gift bags were coming up a bit small. I am being good though as I will sell the baby Cricut when the Expression comes.
Has anybody used the markers and if you have , are they any good?
Today I need to upload my DT stuff on the Crop 'til you Drop blog. And then I'm intending to have a play with my Sarah's cardmaking kit which comes monthly. It's my first one.
In between all that I need to go to the shops, do some housework and some more washing.
Oh also had some good news that my Sugar Nellie Candy box is on it's way, I won it a couple of weeks ago. Sugar Nellies are a new range of stamps that will be out soon.
Have a good day everyone.

Another one!
Go Go Greetings Kit
I just received my first GoGo Greetings monthly kit and it was the lovely Basic Grey Mellow papers and die cuts. So I made this very Autumnal card. With each kit you get a little acrylic stamp and this time it was the cherries. I stamped them out onto two different papers and tried to make it look like they were hanging off the tree branch.
Crop 'Til You Drop Challenge
As you may or may not know I'm part of the Crop 'til you Drop Design Team and every Saturday one of the DT sets a challenge. Saturday just gone was Charli's turn and she set a sketch challenge , you can see it here. So this is how I interpreted it. If you enter you could win a prize as at the end of the month all the challenge entries are judged by the DT team and the best one gets a prize. Just to say the DT do if for fun and their work is not taken into consideration for the prize.

Getting organised for Christmas
I keep forgetting to put my DT stuff on my blog. I'm a design team member for Crop til you drop.
I received my fab kit this week and there were some gorgeous things in it so I set straight to work. As I was thinking of getting organised for Christmas I decided to make something to get me organised now!! So here it is, a Christmas list book. A bit of recycling was needed so I made the base from a cereal box!! I used my bind it all to make the book. The idea is to hang it in the kitchen and when I remember things to write it down in the book and then when I go out shopping I can take the book with me. When it is hanging up the book just slips into the pocket by the back cover.

Father Christmas from Magnolia
I had the time to use at least one of my new Magnolia stamps today and here it is. The picture never seems to show up the sparkle but it is nice and sparkly due to stickles. The torn layers, Santa's fur on his clothes and the fir tree all have sparkly bits.I've coloured in the usual way , prismas and zest it. The little snowflakes are made with a punch and some decorative paper. I tore the papers to create a layered effect like snow.

Nothing from me today. The two youngest have a day off school for a German bank holiday. The two eldest went to school on the bus and got half way and then got told they had to come home because of a burst pipe!! I did do something a bit crafty I suppose. I subscribed to a monthly card kit from Sarah's cards. They look yummy!! Hmm that's two monthly kits I've subscribed to now. Don't tell DH!!!

Today I made two very quick and easy items. The first is a Tilda mobile phone charm. Just stamped out onto white shrink plastic and coloured in with prismas.
The second is a card I made with some lovely images that I received from Kim. Thanks Kim :-). I coloured her in using prismas and zest it, added some stickles to the wings and water. The two flowers are from Prima and I added to the centre a zoomz, which I won a pot of from Caz. Thanks Caz :-).

Triangle Tri-fold
Here's a nice quick card to make. Another one from the SCS projects. It's made from one piece of cardstock and a couple of bits of patterned paper. The papers and rub ons are from my GoGo Create October kit. To keep it closed I used a piece of ribbon.

Different cards
I sometimes like to do a different sort of card IYKWIM. So I've been looking on SCS for some ideas. I've printed off some instructions and this one is the first I tried out. It's called a criss cross card. The stamp set is an acrylic set called Robins from Woodware. I bought it last year and hardly used it, also the same with the papers, I got them from QVC as a kit. So a bit of recycling done today. The little cricle stamp , Happy Holidays is from a set from Stampin Up. The images are coloured in with prisma pencils and zest it. The little tab to pull the insert out with, is done with my cricut. I also added some glossy accents to the berries on the pud and some stickles on the snow on the postbox.
Now which one shall I make next??

Sorry...
Sorry I've been neglecting my blog!! DH came home Friday and brought me back some goodies. The new Martina Cole book and I also got the new Zelda game for the DS. Taken a bit of my weekend up. On Saturday we managed to go out to Paderborn and do some Christmas shopping. The kids are off school this week for half term so I won't get much time to sneak off to my room. I also have a few stamped images to do and my new monthly GoGo Create kit to play with and.. I'm also expecting my DT kit to arrive at any time. My images from the Magnolia swap turned up too!!! I have sooo much to play with and not enough free time at the moment. Probably back to normal next week with the kids going back. :-)

For You
This one I've made for a blog candy comp. Okay so this will be the last Whippersnapper image I'll do for a bit now. I've used a new product with this stamp to colour it in.
